David Shorthouse - Managing Partner
Dr David Shorthouse founded Manarva LLP in 2008 with the aim of providing bespoke Financial Analysis and Investment Research to key clients. He can draw on over 15 years of Exotic Derivatives senior experience at a top European Investment Bank, and more recent experience with the Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) market.
Immediately prior to the formation of Manarva LLP, Dr Shorthouse spent six years as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse where he held the position of European Head of the Global Modelling & Analytics Group ("GMAG"). This group of over 100 professionals created the pricing, structuring, and risk management models for the Fixed Income & Equity businesses at Credit Suisse.
During his combined 15 years at Credit Suisse & Credit Suisse Financial Products, David has been Global Product Head of the Rates, Foreign Exchange & Equity businesses for GMAG, and has covered a wide range of markets including rates, foreign exchange, equity, credit, commodity, emerging markets, fund linked products, and insurance products. He is experienced in the creation of derivative and relative value models from first principals, in risk management strategies, and has priced and structured trades for a wide range of businesses. He has presented at the annual Global Derivatives & Risk Management Conference (Paris 2005).
David has a First Class degree (B.Sc) in Engineering Mathematics (1988), and holds a Ph.D in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1992), both from the University of Bristol.
